“Happiness is a skill, a choice...built by attitude and intention. As much is taken, we find more to love and appreciate. We can be more honest and kinder to ourselves and authentic.” This is beautifully written, uplifting, empowering. This deeply resonates with me as 63 approaches. I’m very excited by the possibilities of my next reinvention.

beautiful, my seventy something friend sent this to me and I see her as happy, vivacious, activist. I think Mary Pipher is right on about woman and aging.

This was absolutely fantastic. My 70-something widower aunt who never had children of her own sent this to me. I mention those details because she's always been somewhat of a role model to me for how to live a life you create and enjoy against the efforts of social and peer pressure to conform you to others' definitions of happiness. Her and her now late husband always sent an end-of-year card- you know, one of those photo cards that's about the size of a business envelope and typically covered with pictures of babies and dogs- displaying pictures of the two of them and their global travels from that year. It always had the same caption: Happy Holidays from Our World to Yours. Maybe in 2019 I can focus on living more like a 70-year-old woman and less like I give a damn about anyone's opinion of that.
