Anyone up for a little Mammoth hunting today? Even after years of not giving too many fucks about the judgments of others I still find myself susceptible to the subtle persuasion of my soft warm soft mammoth.

If you give someone a paintbrush and an empty canvas, they might not paint something good—but they’ll change the canvas in one way or another.

Making this shift isn’t easy for anyone, but it’s worth obsessing over. Your Authentic Voice has been given one life—and it’s your job to make sure it gets the opportunity to live it.

First rr read 🙌 (That made this doubly gratifying.)

Love Wait But Why ever since my friend sent me a link. Curious about the author(s).

Taming the mammoth takes hard work. My mammoth is ranting right now about this very comment. 🐘

I've made great progress in taming my mammoth in the last few months. But yeah, he still rants at me constantly - including every single time I post a comment on here.

I'm putting this one in today's community email :)

Hey. Read this. Right now. Beginning to end. There’s an 80% chance it will change your day and a 5% chance it will change your life. And it will only take a half an hour. The time investment is a no-brainer.

There are so many beautiful, inspiring quotes in here, but it’s important to really read the whole thing from top to bottom. Reading is medicine. But the medicine doesn’t work if you take it wrong. Skimming, scanning, skipping around - it’s like taking antibiotics off schedule. It really won’t work. Out of context, the individual quotes will probably sound cheesy.

Everyone knows to “be yourself.” But it’s so much harder than we realize. And we all beat ourselves (and each other) up for struggling with it.

There’s a reason that Wait But Why has endured as a bit of a phenomenon in the blogging and media world. I think it’s because the voice is truly authentic. It doesn’t feel self helpy or preachy. It just feels like truth, unadorned, with all the sad and happy and fun and scary all mixed together.

I’ll always remember the power of this one Dr. Seuss quote. I wrote it on the cover of one of my journals when I was in 6th grade and I’ve never forgotten it since: BE WHO YOU ARE AND SAY WHAT YOU FEEL BECAUSE THE PEOPLE WHO MATTER DONT MIND AND THE PEOPLE WHO MIND DONT MATTER.
